Dear Brothers & Sisters in our Lord,
This evening, a dear friend who I’ve known at least as long as anyone else at St. Bart’s will carry the cross as we commence the Stations of the Cross this evening at 6pm, which will be the only evening Stations scheduled until Good Friday (subsequent observances will take place at noon).
The First Sunday in Lent begins at 10am with The Litany before transitioning into The Holy Eucharist with full Decalogue and Exhortations. Especially due to The Litany in Procession getting things started, please make the meager effort required this Sunday morning to BE ON TIME. Thank you.
The second lesson appointed for Morning Prayer today is 1 Corinthians 1:18-31 and speaks most fittingly to those of you who have been buzzing about Easter Day sharing the secular calendar with April Fools’ Day this year. It can be seen in the context of the Prayer Book rite for Morning Prayer at the following link (appointed readings are updated daily): http://www.commonprayer.org/offices/morn_n.cfm
And here is the link for daily Evening Prayer: http://www.commonprayer.org/offices/even_n.cfm
A big thanks to all who turned out for Shrove Tuesday and especially to the men who helped in the kitchen and with setup, serving, and cleaning.
God grant you each & all a most holy season of Lent.
Much love & many blessings,
