News from St. Bart’s (3/31)

Dear Brothers & Sisters in our Lord,

A blessed Holy Saturday to you, each and all.  Today’s liturgy, which begins at 7pm, is the first part of the Easter Vigil and sees the new fire of God struck, the lighting of the Paschal Candle that burns as a sign of the presence of the resurrected Christ, darkness banished, and the beginning of the showing forth of the victory won on Good Friday.  The saving acts of God in history are recounted in The Exsultet and in Holy Scripture whilst the people await the announcement of the Resurrection that will be celebrated on Easter Day:

The Lord is Risen!  He is Risen Indeed!!  Alleluia!!!

Choristers will be rehearsing with Gail shortly after this evening’s liturgy.  For those bringing window boxes, lilies &/ or bouquets for the Flowering Cross, please leave them in the Parish Hall.

For those bringing food items, flowers, and children tomorrow morning, make sure and arrive early enough to be in place in the Nave for the start of the celebration of the Feast Day par excellence.

See you soon—much love & many blessings,
rtd+
