News from St. Bart’s (5/10)

Dear Brothers & Sisters in our Lord,

A blessed Ascension Day to each and all of you!  Today’s feast, a Day of Holy Obligation, will be commemorated with a Holy Eucharist at 10am.  I will be the Celebrant and perhaps share a few words from the pulpit.

The Ladies Fellowship gathers in the Parish Hall tomorrow (Friday) at 11am.  Refreshments will be available.

And being the second Sunday of the month, Fr. Bart Dellinger will be celebrating and preaching this Sunday (Ascension I) at 10amMay’s Vestry Meeting will commence shortly afterward in the Leen Center’s first classroom.

On the following Sunday, May 20th, we celebrate one of the principal feasts of the Church year, Whitsunday/ Pentecost.

Following the morning’s liturgy, the ACW will host a tea in the Parish Hall.  The men and children will apparently have to wing it in the Leen Center;  but as I recall, we managed quite well enough during the event last year.

Many thanks for all the positive feedback regarding last weekend’s chanted Litany in Procession and especially the sermon for Rogation Sunday.  I always enjoy the interaction as well as receiving confirmation that you’re actually engaged during “the work of the people” (definition of the word liturgy).

See you soon—much love & many blessings,
rtd+
