Parish News (9/18)

Greetings from Vancouver, BC, where I’ve just finished my weekly graduate studies class on The Christian Mind with Professor John Stackhouse.  As one who spends a fair amount of time pushing certain buttons and challenging you to more critically think about the way you think about the world around you, at least a few of you will be pleased to learn that I’m having a few of my own buttons pushed and am being challenged tonight.  I should be back home around 1:00 AM Wednesday morning, and the rest of the week should be pretty “normal.”

Evening Prayer begins at 6:30 PM Wednesday evening.  As it is the Feast of St. Theodore of Canterbury, I just might say a few words about the great saint.

On Thursday, work will begin on a new bollard-post lighting system in the driveway and parking area, so please exercise a bit of caution whilst on church property until the project is completed.

The Feast of St. Matthew will be celebrated by a said Holy Eucharist on Friday morning at 10:00 AM.

Also on Friday, the ACW will be meeting at 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall to begin work on both this year’s Vendor & Craft Show and the craft assignment for next year’s Diocesan Synod.  All ladies are welcome and encouraged to attend.  Contact Rhonda for further details.

If you’ve not yet ordered a 2013 Ordo Kalendar and want to do so, place your order with Mary Ellen by this Sunday morning.

Men of the parish:  Jr. Warden Larry Talbott has called a workday for Saturday, October 6th.  Please mark your calendar and plan on joining us that day for Morning Prayer, breakfast and some buildings/ grounds-related tasks.
